THREE NIGHTS IN PARIS

We have been fortunate enough to visit Paris twice in the past year. Once for our honeymoon and then again on this trip. Let me preface this by saying that Paris was not originally on our trip list, but after a spur of the moment decision we decided to visit Paris instead of Switzerland with our good friend Erica. It made for a exciting scramble to find hotel rooms, but we had the awesome experience of staying in a different arrondissement each night! What a way to discover the city. It was a treat to see Paris through the eyes of someone new to the city- And we all fell in love with it all over again.
Our last night we stayed just blocks away from Moulin Rouge in the 18th arrondissement and I was surprised to find it was one of my favorite locations for food. Walking down the street the choices were endless. It was probably one of the most diverse areas I have stayed and would not hesitate to recommend the area to others.

THE GREAT AFFAIR IS TO MOVE

You know those dreams you have and you think- “No, we couldn’t… Not now… Maybe later.” This year Justin and I moved 5 times. (I know- it was kind of crazy!) We learned so much about each other, our dreams and what ‘home’ means to us. Those dreams and ideas that seemed so big and scary at one time, really don’t any more. We just were talking one night and asked ourselves – why not now?
So for the next two months we will be adventuring around Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France and the UK. Thank you to all the family members and friends who encouraged us! We could not ask for a better support team!

Love and Art | In the City of Lights.

We just returned from what was the best trip- and the best time of my life. We followed in my Grandfather’s steps, and we returned to the very city that my Grandfather took his wife on a honeymoon, 65 years ago. We went to Paris.

At my grandfather’s encouragement we picked only a few “main sights” to see over our 11 day stay. For the rest of the time we explored the city. We rented bikes and literally biked to all of the 20 Arrondissements, ate in cafes with steamy windows and all French patrons, established ourselves as locals by attending the same boulangerie each morning, took the boat/dinner trip, attended a midnight mass in a small church, sat in a cafe for hours people watching, spoke French to everyone (even each other), tasted the best escargot and French Onion soup in my life, woke up early to be one of the few in Notre Dame and kissed under the Eiffel tower in the rain.

It was magical.

{Do you see the kiss on his nose?How sweet is that! }
